CST and Technology: Reimagining the Internet
St. Xavier College, Mumbai, India
March 11 – 13, 2024
This conference is an event within the framework of the global network “Spire,” a network coordinated by Notre Dame's Center for Social Concerns to engage in research and the signs of the times through a lens of Catholic Social Tradition.
The goal of this conference should be to facilitate authentic dialogue about the past, present and future of the Internet, leading to a virtuous reimagining of it through Catholic Social Tradition and other normative traditions. Particular attention will be paid to the Indian context (and tech scene) and its changes through social media and AI. The reference points of human dignity and the common good will inform our exchanges.
The conference is aimed at building a community of researchers and industry experts to consider the morally relevant challenges of the internet and related digital/social technologies. A goal of the conference is the development of international research collaborations based on the workshop.
